Much like our last KT600 board, we had tremendous stability issues caused by a lacking memory bus. My first reactions at having a board this unstable would be to guess that there were simply BIOS problems or problems with the board itself. While initially testing this board from EPoX, we had another KT600 board on the bench from another manufacturer that was showing some of the same exact problems. At that point you pretty much loose hope. I spent over a week working with various Ram configurations and did not find anything close to the silver bullet that I wanted to solve my problems. Again we saw one DIMM working OK in Slot 1 but you would not want to use more than one stick in any config we could find that utilized Slots 1 and 2 or 1 and 3. Simply put, you will not be using this board with more than two sticks of Ram and having stability. Surely this gives you a narrow upgrade path in that respect. Aggressive Ram timings are a mainstay in the enthusiast community. Even if the EPoX 8KRA2+ did not have another issue, it would still be beyond me to suggest this board to our readers, unless they wanted it for anything more than a stock box that was never going to be tweaked on. If you want to buy and EPoX board for a Socket A CPU, make sure you give their nForce2 solution a look.
