Bij myworldhardware hebben ze dit bordje eens van naderbij bekeken.
Gigabyte has done a good job overall with its GA-7VT600. Targeted at value/budget market, this board is able to satisfy almost any user with sufficient expandability. Digital Video Camera users would find its inclusion of firewire IEEE 1394 as a great add-on. We would certainly recommend this board for non-overclockers as it has almost everything that a user would ever need at a value price.
The overclocking group however might find this board unappealing due to the insufficient control over voltage and adjustable AGP/PCI lock. From our test, we could only bring up our 2.00GHz (2400+ Athlon XP) processor to 2.22GHz using 148MHz while Abit’s NF7-S could do 2.3GHz easily @ 154MHz. This was due to its maximum voltage increment of 10% which is roughly 1.78V. Hardcore enthusiasts might be better off with NForce2 instead.
As this is a value board, the GA-7VT600 1394 gets our recommended award for its value for money and stability.
Pros: Full featured board with IEEE 1394 & 6 channel audio Cool Blue colour PCB Good placement of ATX Header and DIMM/AGP slots Stable & Value for Money
Cons: Limited overclocking functions Limited CPU area space for large heatsinks
